Position Summary
The Administrator - Systems is responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of IT Infrastructure, ensuring high-availability, reliability, and security. The role involves administration of organization’s server environments, virtualization platforms, network devices while providing technical expertise and support to ensure seamless IT operations.
Academic/ Vocational Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer sciences / IT / Engineering or a Diploma in Engineering
Work Experience
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a similar environment for a bachelor’s candidate and 4-6 years for an Engineering Diploma holder
Skills & Qualifications
Data Center Operations (Core Competency):
- Expertise in rack layout design, cabling standards, and hardware installation.
- Knowledge of power distribution design, redundancy planning, and failover mechanisms.
- Understanding of CRAC units, HVAC systems, airflow optimization, and hot/cold aisle containment.
- Ability to monitor and maintain temperature, humidity, and cooling efficiency.
- Hands-on experience with UPS systems, PDUs, generators, and electrical load balancing.
- Ability to calculate power load requirements and manage capacity planning.
- Proficiency in DCIM tools (e.g., Schneider EcoStruxure, Sunbird, Nlyte) for real-time monitoring.
- Ability to generate health, utilization, and capacity reports for management.
- Knowledge of data center standards (TIA-942, ASHRAE) and best practices.
- Familiarity with physical security protocols, access control systems, and audit processes.
System Administration:
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux (Red Hat/Ubuntu) administration.
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) and virtual machine provisioning.
- Experience with backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault) and SAN/NAS storage systems.
- Basic MSSQL administration (backups, restores, user management).
- Proficiency in Ansible playbooks and scripting (Bash, PowerShell).
- OS and application patching across Linux and Windows environments.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
